Chimay Blue - Grande Reserve

Blue (called Grande Reserve in the larger, 750ml bottle) was first launched in 1948 as a Christmas beer, its increasing success led to year-round production and this beer soon became the hallmark of the Abbey range. Chimay Grande Réserve is principally distinguished by its character as a strong beer. It will continue to improve as it ages if stored in a dry, dark place. Has a pleasant fragrance of fresh yeast with a light, flowery rosy touch. Its flavor further accentuates the pleasant sensations perceived in the aroma, while revealing a light but pleasant touch of roasted malt. Has wonderful aging potential! This top-fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is neither filtered nor pasteurized. The Magnum may be conserved in dark conditions for years; this is how the beer acquires a light and pleasant taste of port.
